“若きヒーロー”フバートの死にショックを受けるモータースポーツ界。F1ボスやハミルトンらが悲しみのコメント

　2019年FIA-F2第9戦ベルギーのフィーチャーレースで多重クラッシュが発生、BWTアーデンのアンソニー・フバートが死去した。F2、F1などモータースポーツ関係者たちは大きなショックを受け、22歳のフバートの死を悼むコメントを発表している。

　8月31日のレース2周目、フバート、ファン・マヌエル・コレア、ジュリアーノ・アレジらが絡む多重クラッシュが発生した。フバートとコレアのマシンが大破する大事故で、すぐにレースはキャンセルされた。クラッシュ直後のマシンの状態から、ふたりの容体が心配されたが、後にフバートが命を落としたことが発表された。コレアは入院しているものの安定した状態であるということで、アレジはメディカルセンターで検査を受けた結果、けががないことが確認された。FIAは事故についての調査を開始、F2は日曜のレースを中止することを決めた。

　フバートは2013年にフランスF4選手権、2018年にはGP3シリーズでタイトルを獲得。ルノーの若手育成プログラムのメンバーであり、今年F2選手権に昇格、BWTアーデンに所属し、2勝を挙げていた。

　ルノー・スポール・レーシングは「才能ある若手のひとりアンソニー・フバートを失い、大きなショックを受けている」というコメントを発表した。
「彼の笑顔と快活な性格は、我々の若手グループに明るい雰囲気をもたらしていた。今シーズン、F2で強力な結果を出しており、ルノー・スポール・レーシング・グループ全体にいい刺激を与えていた」

　ルノーのマネージングディレクター、シリル・アビテブールは「彼は本当に明るい性格だった。コース上のパフォーマンス、それ以外での振る舞いはまさに真のジェントルマンと呼ぶにふさわしいものだった」とコメントしている。

　BWTアーデンのチーム代表、ゲイリー・ホーナーは「チーム全員がショックを受けている。アンソニーは非常に明るい性格で、我々チーム、そしてルノー・ジュニアプログラムのメンバーから愛されていた」と悲しみを示した。

　メルセデスF1チームのルイス・ハミルトンは、モータースポーツの安全性が高まっているとはいえ、危険が伴うスポーツであることを忘れてはならないと発言した。

「もしもこのスポーツを見て、楽しんでくれている人が、僕らがしていることは安全だと一瞬でも思うなら、それは大きな間違いだ。ドライバーは全員、コースに出る時には命を懸けている。そのことが十分理解されていないので、正しい認識を持ってほしい。ファンだけでなく、この世界で働く人々すべてに、そう言いたい」

「僕にとって彼はヒーローだ。リスクを冒して夢を追いかけた。こんなことが起きて本当に悲しい。彼のことをいつまでも記憶にとどめよう」

　他にも大勢のモータースポーツ関係者がコメントを発表、フバートの死を悲しみ、家族へのお悔やみの言葉を述べている。
